How do I make a booking?

Please email stanleyssausagestrolls@gmail.com for all bookings.

Provide your dogs details and as much information as you can including your contact number.

If you wish to have a chat first then call Claire on 07886841424.

We will arrange a meet & greet followed by an overnight trial visit. As the diary gets booked up, I always advise clients to sort their dog care first in plenty of time before a holiday.

What are your opening hours?

For telephone enquiries we are available each day 9 am - 5 pm and we aim to answer emails within 24 hrs.

For drop off & collections we will discuss this with you. Stays are based on 24 hr periods, timings are required to invoice accordingly and manage the diary efficiently. This can be flexible as each booking is unique.

Is it dachshunds only?

YES!! We are pleased to be dedicated to dachshunds as we know that a lot of owners would like them to be with their own breed.  This also means the risks of larger excitable dogs jumping on them is eliminated, thus helping to reduce risks of IVDD episodes. Dachshunds are unique and so is their care. We only look after one family at a time, so up to 3 of your dogs.

Does my dog require vaccinations?

This is a key requirement for their stay at Stanley's Sausage Strolls. We want to protect all dogs in our care and give owners peace of mind. We will ask to see the actual vaccination certificate, so we can have a copy for our records. Please bring this to along with all paperwork for their trial stay. You will be emailed a booking agreement, pet record and vet record forms to complete. Each time their vaccination certificate gets updated, we need a new copy.

Kennel Cough vaccine (Bordetella) is also very important in our setting. We will not admit dogs within 3 weeks of having this vaccine, so please bear this in mind. Any dogs with symptoms will not be admitted as it is very contagious. If they have had DHP / Lepto boosters, we need 1 week before arrival.

Are dogs off lead on walks?

In short no. We will not be allowing your dog off lead on walks as we want to ensure their safety at all times. They are free to explore our home and garden all day and they will be taken on different walks which may include the New Forest, our beautiful beaches and local river walks. If we are at the beach they may paddle their toes if they wish, rest assured they will not be swimming.

Do I need to provide meals? Will you provide snacks?

Yes please! We want to ensure happy healthy dogs and will not make changes to their diets to ensure continuity for them. On our pet forms, there is a dietary section, please ensure this is completed with every tiny detail, so we can get it right for you. We will provide healthy treats and fruit / veg snacks - no rawhide here! I tend to opt for grain / gluten free treats, as natural as possible.

What happens if my dog needs to see a vet?

We require you to sign a Vet release letter which gives us your authority to seek Vet treatment in an emergency situation. We may take your dog to your local vet if based nearby, our own Vet or the nearest available vet or out of hours care.

Do you use social media or provide pupdates?

We use Instagram and Facebook as we like to share our journey and communicate with our Stanley's Sausage Strolls extended family; as much as we can. However we respect you may not wish us to use images of your dog - please just let us know. We can send you pupdates on WhatsApp so you can see your fur baby too.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Booking, Payment & Cancellations

A 25% deposit is needed at time of booking for stays & trials; these are non-refundable, payable by bank transfer and an invoice will be sent. A deposit will only be refunded for a future stay if the trial was unsuccessful and we cannot proceed further.

Your balance is due 7 days before your trial or stay and payment is required by bank transfer only. Please note the balance due date, which will be on your original invoice. Any non payment will result in cancellation of your booking and a fee of £20 will apply. For bookings made with under 7 days notice, payment in full is required.

Cancellations

Based on the following:

Over 28 days before booking = amount paid less non-refundable deposit

28 - 14 days before booking = 75% of fees will be payable

Less than 14 days before booking = full fee is payable

If there is an unforeseen emergency at Stanley’s Sausage Strolls we will give as much notice as possible and endeavour to find alternative solutions.

Where can I find your operating policies?

Available on request, just email and ask.

What about unneutered dogs?

Our own dog is neutered, but we will generally accept intact males, however, as part of the trial we will assess their behaviour around marking etc. We do not accept females in season.
